Modo’s JumpStart is the beginner-level robotics and programming online course suitable for children aged 8 years and above. It is a stepping stone into the world of robotics, which has seen a surge in a number of applications both in households and industries. Once signed up for the course, your child will receive an educational robotic kit. The online course and each of the modules are specially designed to fuel young minds by teaching them the concept of robotics, introducing them to various components of a robot and to sensor technologies, and helping them to program the kit to create a functional robot. Ultimately, this course provides real-world knowledge of how robotics are being used in our day-to-day lives and by the end of this program, your child would have built his own robot and programmed it to perform certain actions.

Registration:

Modo’s Jumpstart course is ideally suited for children above 8 years.
Visit https://modo.one/courses/ and choose the right course. Once selected, visit the course page and click on ‘Buy this Course’. It will take you to a registration page for enrolling in the course.
Once registered, you can use the self-generated ‘username’ and ‘password’ to login to the learning portal.
Visit https://modo.one/courses/ and enter your login details. Scroll down to the chosen course, click. Once on the course page, click on the ‘Curriculum’ tab and get started.
Yes, you will receive a ‘Course Completion Certificate’ by email at the end of the course.
Modo’s five level curriculum framework is designed to offer your child a step-by-step approach to technology literacy. As new level courses get announced, you can enroll your child in advanced courses to continue the path of digital learn
For JumpStart, there is no pre-requisite, as this is a beginner-level course. However, for advanced courses, one must have completed the previous level to move forward.

Our system allows registering only one child at a time. You can enroll each one of them separately. However, please note every time you enroll, you have to use a unique email id.
Please note that JumpStart, the beginner-level course, is designed for children above 8 years keeping in mind their knowledge of certain science and mathematical concepts.
If your child is less than 8 years, some of the concepts may be difficult. So we suggest you use your discretion.
When you enroll in the JumpStart course, depending on the course you chose, you will receive an educational robotic kit.
VirtualBot– You will receive a link by email to download a software simulator robot. ?Also a unique license code will be issued for you to use the software.
GizmoBot - You will receive the GizmoBot robotic kit delivered to your postal address within 7 working days from the date of registration.
mBot– You will receive the mBot educational robotic kit delivered to your postal address within 7 working days from the date of registration.
All robotic kits issued along with the course are of top quality. Modo team ensures that these kits are tested for child-friendliness, course relevance and long-term durability.
Yes, all robotic kits issued along with the course carry a 6-month manufacturer warranty. The warranty is applicable on the micro controller boards and sensors only. Chassis, motors, wheels, battery pack and connectors are not covered.
Yes. If the issue is with the robotic kit, you can send an email to contact@modo.one stating the nature of the issue. Please read earlier topic about warranty coverage.

No, you will not be able to download the videos for offline viewing.
Modo’s online courses include a series of video lessons, grouped under modules and sub modules. In the video lessons, you will find an instructor, an animated robot and few students. The video lessons are a combination of concepts, coding activities and hands-on kit-based projects.
Yes, you can. However, we recommend that you complete the course within 2 months from the date of enrollment.
There is no prerequisite or pre-work. However, we encourage students to review topics and read more to gain additional knowledge around the topics taught. In each lesson page, there are links for additional reference.
Increasingly, world over children are moving over to online learning which liberates them from having to travel to a destination, accepting low tutoring standards, or even worse, having to match the pace and quality of a class setup.
For each module, all you need is 40 mins. However, you can spend additional amount of time, according to your convenience, to research and learn about the robotics concepts or program additional activities with the bot.
Typically, we recommend you complete 3 modules per week and hence complete the whole course in 2 months.
Each level of Modo’s courses has 25 modules. Each module is approximately 40 mins long. The lessons and modules are designed as self-paced.

No, you will not be able to skip any module. At the end of each module, you need to complete the quiz (mandatory) to progress to the next module.
Yes, you can review the lessons any number of times.

Your course access will be active for minimum 1 year. Modo’s courses and video lessons go through updates regularly. After the updates, if you are keen to access the course, please write to us at contact@modo.one.
No. However, you can write to us for any specific help, and we will look into this on a case-to-case basis.
Yes, you can take the assessment quizzes any number of time, till you secure 100% (all right answers) for you to move forward to the next module.

Yes, you will have to secure 100% points, i.e. you will have to get all answers right to move to the next module. Please note you can take the quiz any number of times.
You can share with your friends as a report, not an online view. We sincerely advise not to share your login and password to any of your friends.
